Få dager etter sin førstelagsdebut for Pompey, scoret 16 år gamle Koby Mottoh to mål da akademiet vant sin andre kamp på rad.

AKADEMIET: Etter å ha vunnet 6-3 borte mot Forest Green Rovers, fulgte Pompeys akademilag opp med seier 4-0 hjemme mot Exeter.

Koby Mottoh scoret Pompeys to første, få dager etter at han gjorde sin førstelagsdebut for Pompey i ligacupkampen mot Forest Green Rovers.

I tillegg til Mottoh scoret også Maxwell Hurst to mål for Pompey.

Akademiets neste kamp er lørdag 16. september. Hjemme mot Cheltenham Town.

«We knew beforehand that Exeter were one of the stronger teams in the division. They tend to start games well, so we wanted to make sure that they weren’t able to do that and began on the front foot.

We were dominant throughout and probably should have had a couple of goals before we opened the scoring. There were a couple of great chances that we didn’t take, but eventually we got the penalty and Koby converted it.

He was a massive part of the game – he and Maxwell were definitely the stand-out performers for us. Koby was involved in everything, scoring two himself and then setting up the other two. He’s in a great place at the minute after getting a chance for the first team earlier in the week. We were aware at half-time that although we were two goals up, that was the case for Forest Green last Saturday and we turned it around. So we wanted to make sure that we didn’t take our foot off the gas and were determined to also keep the clean sheet.

The lads finished the game strongly and did well to soak up a little bit of pressure once we went 4-0 ahead. Exeter started to throw a more bodies forward and made some substitutions, but we dealt with the threat well. And in the end I actually thought that the scoreline was quite flattering on them because we were in control right from the start.

We’ve been playing well over the past few weeks and have scored quite a few goals, but have also missed a lot of chances. At the moment, it’s all looking very positive.”
