Our FA Cup win at Norwich was well deserved but we failed to capitalise on them going down to 10 men early on. Norwich showed their class in the second half and were starting to dominate the game.
Once again Ben Thompson was our stand out player – he will be missed. Dion Donohue did well in place of the injured Brown particularly since he has seen so little first team action due to injury this season. Anton Walkes also impressed on the right.
The News have published a list of the value of League 1 teams and Pompey are only 11th with Sunderland, not surprisingly having the most expensive team. No more transfer gossip for Pompey but Luton losing their manager to Stoke may benefit us. I only hope that nobody tries to tempt Jackett away.
Ikke umulig at vi henter en spiss til 1 million pund
I also saw that the News reported the sale of Connor Chaplin to Coventry for £500,000. Given that we reportedly only paid £100,000 for Curtis and £150,000 for Cannon I think Pompey did very well indeed. The transfer pot should also be strengthened by the cup/television income of nearly £500,000 so far so a £1 million striker shouldn’t be completely out of the question.
