2017-18: Portsmouth – Blackpool 0-2

Sæsonens dårligste kamp for Pompey.

Pompey manager Kenny Jackett:

The goals were poor to concede but I’m more frustrated about us as an attacking force. ‘Christian (Burgess) elected to take the ball on his chest and through that touch, I presume, has played Vassell onside.

‘The second goal was a little bit of a hashed clearance, but, even so, Robertson is still clear on the far post. ‘It was a defensive display from Blackpool where they made fewer mistakes than us. ‘The overriding frustration, though, is what we did with the ball and going forward. We didn’t do enough.’

Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer

“To come here and play in front of 17,500, to keep a clean sheet and score two very good goals and limit to them to only one shot on target, well the lads deserve a hell of a lot of credit for that.”

Udpluk fra twitter

Despite defeat, it’s good to see atleast some players care. Saw McGee apologising to fans in the Fratton end with pain in his eyes. Definitely not his fault

One of the worst matches I have seen for ages. Blackpool were appalling, and we were somehow even shitter. Grim

‘Highlights’ of the afternoon, the remaining #Pompey fans celebrating a shot on target with a chant of ‘We’ve had a shot, we’ve had a shot’ and the FT whistle.

I don’t normally tweet during games, but this has been the worst 72 minutes of my life.

Also Burgess had the worst game I’ve ever seen from him today. No clean sheet in 14 games now is damning. Still can’t understand the Henderson move and do think it was an error of judgement to undermine McGee in that way. Easy to say in hindsight though

Biggest concern today was shape and movement for me. Perhaps a change of system needed, appreciate the very limited resources though. A year of consolidation this season and maybe more of a playoff push next year?

Not seen such a lacklustre #Pompey performance since the dark days of Richie Barker. Mid table is where we’re at and should be. Promotion would be way too soon if in the unlikely event it came this season
