Kaptein Pack blir med videre

Marlon Pack har blitt 35 år, men kapteinen har denne sesongen vist at han fortsatt holder Championship-nivå. Nå har han skrevet under på en ny kontrakt.

NYHETER: Han beskrives som den perfekte kapteinen og en framtidig trener, men først og fremst har Marlon Pack vist den siste sesongen at han fortsatt holder mål som midtbanespiller på Championship-nivå.

I 2024/25-sesongen fikk han en del kritikk som må kalles urettferdig ettersom han gjorde en svært viktig jobb for laget da han steppet inn som midtstopper i lagets skadekrise. Han ble av flere stemplet som treg og ferdig på dette nivået.

Før 2025/26-sesongen hentet Pompey inn nye midtbanespillere, men Pack presterte enn nykommerne John Swift, Mark Kosznovszky og Luke Le Roux. Nå skal Pack, som er en lokal gutt oppvokst som Pompey-supporter, altså fortsette karrieren på Fratton Park i alle fall ett år til.

«I’m over the moon to sign a new contract and extend my time at the club for another year. I think everyone knows just what Pompey means to me and we’ve achieved so much together during my four years here so far.

I’m very grateful that will continue and I’ll have more opportunities to represent this magnificent football club and our excellent fans. What this group was able to do during this past season was a big achievement and now we want to keep building.

As soon as the final whistle was blown on the last game, you immediately start thinking about how we can continue to improve and really establish ourselves in the Championship.”
