Svensk midtstopper signerte kontrakt med Pompey

Publikumsfavoritt i AIK Stockholm, men da han sto uten kontrakt benyttet Pompey anledningen til å signere Alexander Milosevic ut sesongen.

NYHETER: Den 33 år gamle midtstopperen Alexander Milosevic er klar for Pompey. Han signerte 7. mars, men har i skrivende stund ikke fått sin debut ennå. Mot Millwall lørdag satt han på benken, men kom ikke innpå. Noe som er blitt kritisert av en del supportere ettersom Millwall scoret mål på to headinger. 192 centimeter høye Milosevic kunne vært god å ha i feltet.

Men Milosevic har ikke spilt kamper siden høsten 2024 (for AIK). Pompey signerte ham som svar på at det var midtstopperkrise, og nå gjenstår det å se om Pompey kommer til å bruke ham i sesonginnspurten.

Milosevic har ni A-landskamper for Sverige, har vunnet serien med AIK og spilt for blant annet Besiktas, Nottingham Forest og Hannover 96.

Undertegnede kan føye til at vi fikk møtt ham på treningsfeltet 10. mars. Milosevic gjorde et sympatisk inntrykk og tok seg god tid til en prat. Han fikk også med seg en Venner av Pompey-pin.

«The injuries we’ve suffered means we’re short on defensive options going into the final stage of the campaign. We scoured the markets to see who we could bring in and believe that we have found the best player available.

Alexander has a wealth of experience competing at a high level of the game and has enjoyed relatively recent playing time. He’s kept himself very fit and we feel that he should soon be ready to slot into the side and help us in the Championship.”

«It feels great to be here and I’m very happy. We managed to sort everything very quickly. I was chatting with them [John and Rich] on the phone and they seem like great people, so the decision was easy.

I know that this is a big club with a huge fanbase – especially at Fratton Park – and the atmosphere is good. The Championship is one of the best leagues in the world. I’ve played in many countries, but this division is a high standard. I think I’m pretty good with the ball, I’m aggressive and can read the game. I look forward to getting started.»

«I grew up there after joining when I was 19 and became a man during my 10 years at the club, although they weren’t all in a row.

The season finished in November, so I’ve just been trying to train and keep myself fit and think I’m at the best level I could be without playing games.”
