Killip skrev under for Pompey samme dag som Pompey lot forrige sesongs førstekeeper Will Norris gå gratis tl Wycombe.

«It was a whirlwind 24 hours, but as soon as I heard from my agent that Pompey were interested, then my mind was made up. There was a lot of time spent on the phone and then a lot of time spent in the car – I just couldn’t wait to get started.
I’ve had positive conversations with Joe [Prodomo] and the role he sees for a goalkeeper is aligned to the way I want to play. It’s a perfect match for me. I’m really looking forward to working with him, as well as Jordan and Nico, in the GK union – it’s always the best place to be.
This is a fantastic club and one that I wanted to be a part of, so I’m here to show everyone what I can do. The fanbase is incredible. I was here when promotion was won last season and you could see what it meant to the people of this city.
The atmosphere was bouncing and the noise created by the fans was absolutely incredible – it was ridiculous. It’s a proper old, classic stadium and a place that I was always excited to go, even as an opposition player. So actually being at Fratton Park on the home side is something that I’m now very much looking forward to.”
Barnsley have sold goalkeeper Ben Killip to Portsmouth
Sporting Director Mladen Sormaz: “We had agreed with Ben that he could leave the Club if he was not guaranteed to be number one, and with Joe arriving last week, we felt it was right to allow him to leave at this stage.” pic.twitter.com/RkJl4EQaKD
