“It just felt like a really professional performance from us for the whole 97 minutes – especially when you take into account the conditions.

“We probably had a good half at Swansea last week, but there was a real consistency from us on this occasion.

“The key message to the players was to score – because when you’re dominating the way we were, you don’t usually maintain that for the whole game.

“We controlled the first half and the only disappointing thing is that we were only one goal ahead at the break.

“Fortunately, we were able to keep up the level of performance in the second and the timings of the goals were key.

“We also really wanted that clean sheet for Nico and the back four – and the whole team – because we haven’t had too many of them.

“The performances have been there for us and now we’re starting to back that up with results as well.

“This is a big week for us, with another game on Tuesday and then we play again on Friday, so we have to maintain this energy and build more momentum.”
