SUPPORTERINTERVJUET: Vår medlem nummer 39, Michael Pantling, har vært over og sett Pompey to ganger allerede denne sesongen. Her er hans tanker før dagens hjemmekamp mot Preston.
Det ble 1. plass og opprykk forrige sesong. Hva er dine beste minner fra 2023/24-sesongen?
– Winning lots of matches after a slow start to the season always gives a good feeling.
Hva tenker du om det Pompey har foretatt seg på overgangsmarkedet etter opprykket?
– It is always difficult bringing in a large number of new players and we probably have yet to find the best team given the mixed availability due to injury. I am slightly disappointed with Matt Richie who should do better at this level. Lots of potential with the new signings but they need to deliver, fast.
Hva er dine tanker om sesongstarten og hva forventer du av sesongen?
– Our start has shown what a big gap there is between League One and the Championship. We had a very difficult fixture list at the start of the season playing many of the top teams and favourites for promotion, so it was always going to be a slow process to get points, unfortunately, this hasn’t really picked up with only one win and a number of draws. Many of our matches have been really close fought but lost on the narrowest of margins. I never expected to be in the top 10 but never that we would be bottom of the league. My hope and expectation is that we can still improve enough to avoid relegation but it is going to be tough and scrappy.
Hvilke lag tror du rykker opp fra Championship denne sesongen og hvilke tre lag rykker du ned?
– There are some very good sides in the Championship – Sunderland and Sheffield United are likely for automatic promotion with the play-off places going to Leeds, Burnley, West Brom and Watford
Har du planer om å få til en tur over for å se Pompey i løpet av 2024/25?
– I have managed a couple of home matches so far against West Brom and Sheffield United and hope to manage 2 or 3 more home matches in 2025 and one or two away games

– Mostly through the BBC website and the Pompey App.
Har du noen favorittspillere i dagens Pompey-spillerstall?
– Marlon Pack is still a current favourite, Pompey do better when he plays well.
Hva er dine tanker om John Mousinho og hans trenerteam?
– I still think he is a very good manager, but one who needs a little luck. I think Pompey can be proud of the way they have been playing and have no complaints. Any talk of replacing him is nonsense – it would be a disaster for Pompey. Keep him even if we go down – Pompey are far better that League 1 teams and we should simply bounce back.
Nå er det Preston på hjemmebane. Hva er dine tanker om denne kampen, hva er din startellever og hvordan tror du kampen ender?
– Must win match to avoid falling even further behind the rest of the league. Preston had a very credible draw against Sunderland on Wednesday but have been inconsistent we need a win but I expect that Pompey will draw. I is difficult for me to suggest a starting line up – I’m happy to leave it to the Manager
