“There were some moments that we got wrong early in the game and we left ourselves with a mountain to climb.

“Cardiff didn’t have to earn their two-goal lead and for the first we’ve completely switched off from a throw.

“We’ve allowed the cross into the box and then put the ball into the back of our own net – it’s unrecognisable from what we’ve seen from this side at its best.

“To then concede from a set-piece is very disappointing and Cardiff suddenly have their tails up. They could have scored a few more.

“It’s infuriating and we showed some of those clips in the dressing room after the game where we’ve invited pressure onto ourselves.

“To produce the highs of QPR on Saturday and then start sluggishly like that is something I just can’t accept.

“We do have to come up with a solution to that and need to be honest about the performance because we were lucky to come away with a 2-0 defeat.
