Kjøpte midtbanespiller fra Borussia Dortmund

Draktnummer 25 hos Pompey skal fortsatt bæres av Kamara, men av Abdoulaye Kamara. Ikke Abu Kamara.

NYHETER: Det er ikke ofte Pompeys signeringer rapporteres av Fabrizio Romano, men da Pompey i slutten på august kjøpte Abdoulaye Kamara fra Borussia Dortmund var det tilfelle.

19-åringen har spilt for Borussia Dortmund siden sommeren 2021, da han kom fra akademiet til Paris St. Germain. Han var ønsket med videre i PSG også, men han takket nei til proffkontrakt hos PSG for å heller signere for Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund har han spilt toerlagsfotball og han valgte nå å heller gå til Pompey for å spille førstelagsfotball. Pompey har kjøpt Kamara fra tyskerne for en ikke offentliggjort overgangssum. Det ryktes en sum på drøyt en million pund.

Midtbanespilleren har skrevet under på en fireårskontrakt med Pompey. Han har allerede debutert da han kom inn som innbytter mot Sunderland tidlig i 2. omgang, og han var den Pompey-spilleren det ble snakket mest positivt om etter kampen.

Forhåpentligvis har vi mye godt i vente fra den Guinea-fødte midtbanespilleren født i 2004.

«He’s an extremely promising young player who arrives with plenty of pedigree, having been at Dortmund and PSG before that. We think he’s ready for Championship football and can really kick-start his career with us, so we’re delighted to have him here.

He’s a powerful and combative midfielder who can handle the ball well – he’s right up there in terms of his athleticism and game understanding. It’s a brave step for Abdoulaye to come over and look to prove himself in England and I’m excited to start working with him.»

That’s important to me, as I need to kickstart my career – this is an opportunity for me to do just that.

England isn’t far from France, so I won’t feel too out of place and I’ve already spent several years in Germany, so I’m used to living in different countries. Of course, this is a different league with different people, but I believe I can adapt quickly – which I need to do for myself and for the club.
