«Freddie has been a target for us throughout the summer and so we’re delighted to bring him in. He enjoyed an extremely positive season out on loan last season and was probably one of the outstanding players at that level.

He’s then had an encouraging pre-season back with West Ham and I’m really excited to work with him. Freddie is a gifted, technical midfielder and has good physical attributes. I think he’ll fit right into our system.”

Freddie Potts sine kommentarer til overgangen

«I’m really happy to be here and this is definitely the next challenge that I want in my career. There’s the size of the club, the manager, the quality of the players and everyone knows how big the fan-base is here.

I played against Pompey twice last season and I just thought that this is the kind of place I want to be. They were by far the best team in League One – especially at Fratton Park – and their style was really positive.

Once I knew the club were interested in signing me, then there was no better option for me to take my next step. Everyone in training really wants to do well and you can see that there’s a winning mentality in this group.

That’s what I need – to be at a place where everyone is eager to achieve big things this season. This is the best place for that. I loved the challenge of being at Wycombe and having the number of games that I did, but now I want to test myself at a higher level in the Championship.

I’ll give absolutely everything until the last minute and like to get stuck into challenges, while also getting on the ball and controlling the game.”
