Josh Dockerill fikk sin første proffkontrakt i sommer. Nå er 18-åringen ute med langvarig skade.

NYHETER: Den unge forsvarsspilleren Josh Dockerill pådro seg i sommer en alvorlig kneskade (såkalt ACL injury). Prognosen sier at han trolig er ute i seks til ni måneder.

18-åringen fikk sin førstelagsdebut i EFL Trophy forrige sesong og ved sesongslutt ble han belønnet med sin første proffkontrakt. Skaden er derfor et surt tilbakeslag for unge Dockerill.

Skadet mot Gosport

Skaden skjedde i treningskampen mot Gosport. Hovedtrener John Mousinho sier til Pompeys offisielle nettside:

«There was a slight bit of contact and the way he landed wasn’t ideal. He felt and heard it go at the time. It was what we were expecting, though, and he’s in decent spirits considering the news, but it’s a tough setback for him. 

At a young age, he’ll come back strong and will be firing again. We’ll stay right behind him and keep supporting him. It’s probably 6-9 months out for Josh and if we can get him back fit towards the end of the season that will be a good result. But it’s definitely a blow for him and it’s also a blow for everyone here because he’s a really good kid.”
