Nederlag i sidste testkamp.
Pompey så ikke gode ud i første halvleg, men spillede sig gevaldigt op i anden halvleg med Bristol City fra The Cahmpionship. I næste weekend starter League One, hvor Bristol Rovers venter.
Portsmouth manager John Mousinho:
“The whole period has worked out great and we’ve ticked a lot of boxes in terms of what we’ve wanted to achieve.
“That’s from the camp away in Spain at the beginning of the month, the training sessions since and also the games we’ve played.
“So everyone’s feeling positive as we head into the League One season, although only time will tell how we fare.
“The lads have looked really fit and now we’re just looking to get a little bit sharper heading into next Saturday.
“There’s a lot of excitement building around the club – I think there has been since the back-end of last season.
“We’ve made quite a few signings and the Fratton faithful will be looking forward to seeing them in league action, when it really counts.”

#pompey Bristol City quicker, more athletic/skilful & better paid. Our defence ok to v/good. Again, defence should not be a problem in league. Midfield dodgy, again. Morrell losing his rag 'again'. Bish no service, again. Scully crap corners. Regan, good. More gelling needed.

Decent run out today I thought for #pompey against a solid Bristol City side – First half we were disappointing, but felt there were certainly some positives to take from the second half. Poole is a monster, Shaughnessy looked solid & Kamara looks bright.
Not sure on Norris…— Bradley Hartill (@bradaladders) July 29, 2023
Midfield is poor and to address it #Pompey kept it exactly the same. Bishop isolated. What a shock. Few chances created. Oh and for gelling as its a new team, try telling the Pompey side of 2002-3. Its an excuse for losers.

I'll make no bones about it. With Colby Bishop in our side our goals to games ratio should be better.
Since JM, in the league #Pompey hit 32 goals from 23 games last season. Bishop striking 9 times.
I expect a better return this year.
