Ryan Schofield bliver sandsynligvis andetvalg i buret.

Med tilgangen af den 23-årige keeper er Josh Oluwayemi formentlig snart fortid i klubben. Schofield kommer med noget mere erfaring i bagagen end sin konkurrent som backup for Will Norris. Blandt andet fik han i alt 30 kampe for Huddersfield Town i The Championship lige som keeperen som 19 årig fik en håndfuld kampe for Notts County i League Two.

“Ryan excelled as a youngster at Huddersfield and featured more than 30 times in the Championship. He moved through the England age groups and is a great all-round keeper, with his shot-stopping a particular highlight. He’s brave, a good size and can also kick well, so we’re delighted to bring in someone of his pedigree with experience at a higher level.”

The conversations have been really positive and all the people I’ve spoken to about Pompey have had good things to say. Joe (Prodomo) and I had a Zoom call and he explained his training methods, as well as the vision of the club. I’m looking forward to working with him and Will (Norris), as well as the younger keepers to help the whole department. It’s an exciting opportunity to sign somewhere with such a proud history and hopefully we can have a real go this season.”
