Pompey har lagt penger på bordet og sikret seg Wigan-vingen Anthony Scully.

NYHETER: Den 24 år gamle vingen Anthony Scully har skrevet under på en toårskontrakt med Pompey. Pompey har også sikret seg opsjon på ytterligere ett år.

Scully kommer til Pompey fra Wigan for en ikke offentliggjort overgangssum. Wigan rykket som kjent ned fra Championship forrige sesong, men i Wigan fikk Scully kun fire seriekamper forrige sesong. Før det gjorde han sine saker veldig bra for Lincoln i League One.

«He’s a player with real experience of this level after enjoying a successful spell with Lincoln. He made a massive contribution in terms of goals and assists, which followed on from being one of the outstanding players for West Ham’s under-21 side. So it’s a really exciting signing for us to make and we’ve got someone who can hopefully make a huge impact here.

We’re pleased with the transfer activity we’ve been able to do so far this summer, working with Rich and the recruitment team. A lot of these moves have been many months in the making and so it’s great to see all that hard work coming to fruition.»

«It was something that has been spoken about for quite a while behind the scenes, so I’m delighted to be here. Speaking to the manager really sold it to me and the ambition of the club matches mine – it was a perfect fit all round.

Whenever I’ve played at Fratton Park the atmosphere is always great and it sells out for almost every game. Joining a club of this size and now trying to get them into the Championship is what I’ve come here for.

I like to play anywhere across the forward line, but predominantly on the left-hand side. I pride myself on goals and assists and that’s what I’ll bring to the team. It’s important to be here for the first day of pre-season and be able to move down here with my fiancée and get settled in.”
