2019-20: Fleetwood – Portsmouth 1-2 (FA Cup 3.runde)

This Joey Barton rubbish about us being some kind of financial superpower in league 1 is nonsense and sour grapes. Unless things have drastically changed, the latest accounts for 2018 show #ftfc spent £5,301,915 on wages and salaries, #Pompey spent slightly less with £5,245,649

My pleasure was to call #Fleetwood vs #Pompey for today. If you were out there watching, I salute you. Takeaways: – Pompey deserved it. – Marcus Harness v.good; brightest attacking player. – Pompey defended set pieces better, made better choices in promising positions. (1/3)

Sean Raggett is the modern day Carl Tiler. #pompey

I wonder if Kenny will get any praise if Seddon continues to impress? Unlikely given the fact that many #Pompey fans don’t have it in their nature to give credit when it’s due.

Pompey only 4 wins from third FA Cup Final in 12 years. Fate. Destiny. Written in stars. Haha.

Anyone wanting scum next round gotta be kidding can handle another 4-0 to them! Much rather a day out in London against Spurs or Arsenal! So roll on Oxford away 4th round! #Pompey

Joey Barton, Flletwood:

«We know Pompey are a good side, they’re expected to get promoted out of the division, certainly on the budget that they’ve got, but I thought we more than matched them.

«We created some decent opportunities, but we were undone by two set plays.

«The lads were well-versed, well-coached, well-organised, but you can’t legislate for people not doing their jobs unfortunately, so we’re dumped out of the cup, and it’s a tough pill to swallow because I think in open play it was a 50-50 game.»

Kenny Jackett, Portsmouth

«I thought first half we played well and had some good chances – I was a little disappointed to go in 0-0.

«I’m pleased to say in the second half we got some key moments right, which we haven’t always done this season, and two goals from set-pieces is very welcome.

«In the end we needed that second goal because Fleetwood finished the game strong and put a lot of pressure on us.»
