#Pompey 0 Gillingham 0 HT. Best the Blues have played for ages and unfortunate not to be leading – they deserve to be. Some excellent saves from Gills keeper and Raggett header smacking inside of far post so far denying hosts. In control and by far better side. Patience needed.

20 mins of better football, then once again our heads dropped and we were crap. Thankfully gillingham were no better else we would have been ducked over again. #pompey
Who scouted James Bolton and thought ‘he’s a like for like for Nathan Thompson’ FFS. Guy gets the ball and turns back every time. #pompey
Imagine former chairman Iain McInnes being happy to put up with this crap and thinking all was OK? He got football. American owners just don’t understand not does Catlin. £26 for that?! #pompey
How can a professional football team have that many set plays (10+) in dangerous areas and not score from any of them. Awful. #Pompey
That’s not a football team. There’s no plan when we have the ball. Wait 5 passes to cross it and no one bothers getting on end of it. Will score if falls luckily to us. #Pompey
Our possession is like kids football. Look to drop ball behind defence & everyone chase. When we try to play they’re within arms length not wanting it & make space & angles smaller. It’s was a more solid performance from defence but miles away from OK as team with ball #pompey
11 wins in 28 league games since January. I don’t care about draws. #pompey
Worst part of today was that Gillingham were fucking dogshit and we ended up on par #Pompey
Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett:
“It was a frustrating afternoon after we played reasonably well in the first half and produced some good shots.
“Gareth Evans and Ben Close both tested the keeper, while we had plenty of corners and free-kicks in dangerous areas.
«We did fall away slightly and couldn’t create enough, despite being in control and looking solid at the back.»
“The best of those led to Sean Raggett hitting the post and we felt we could really build on that at half-time, going on to win the game.
“But we didn’t do enough in the second period and an effort from Ellis Harrison and Lee Brown’s chance at the end were our best moments.
“Ryan Williams came on and added some energy, while Andy Cannon provided a different skill set, but ultimately it didn’t result in the storming performance we wanted.
“We did fall away slightly and couldn’t create enough, despite being in control and looking solid at the back.
“We’ve drawn 0-0 at home and want to be winning. To be the team we want to be, we have to use that defensive display as a base for more.”
