2026-27: Darmstadt – Portsmouth 0-0 (testkamp)

Portsmouth manager John Mousinho:

“I was pretty pleased with the performance and it was a big step up from where we were at Wycombe the previous week.

“We were facing pretty strong European opposition, who want to keep the ball and have the ability to spin in behind.

“So it was a really good test and we saw some encouraging things from the boys, while there is also plenty for us to improve on.

“But it was by far our best display of pre-season and overall, I’m fairly satisfied at the level where we’ve got to.

“We’re closer to where we need to be in terms of fitness and that basic level of commitment, but we have also got a fair bit to do in terms of where we want the squad to be.

“There is still another month for us to work on that, although we always plan with urgency to have those players as quickly as possible.”

Omkring skadessituationen

Marlon Pack is ahead of schedule, but won’t be available for next weekend. He’s probably pushing for the QPR game, although that could still be a little too soon.

“Marko Milovanović was never going to get any minutes because he’s only had five training sessions with us since joining, but he could got some at West Ham.

“Harvey Blair just felt his hip in the warm-up and so wasn’t available, while Josh Murphy is still about three weeks away from full training because of a few little niggles.”
