2026-27: Bristol Rovers – Portsmouth 1-1 (testkamp)

«It was good to get back in the game – especially with the number of younger players we had out there at the end. For Brandon to come on and get a goal for the first team at the age of just 17 was a very nice moment as well.

The performance we were looking for was there in patches, although there were also some disappointing moments. We didn’t deal with some of the longer balls particularly well and that’s where Bristol Rovers got their goal from. They’ll be a very strong side this season and it was a good test for us, forcing us into a really competitive game of football.

Ebou Adams, Zak Swanson and Josh Murphy should be back in training next week, with the first two possibly getting some minutes at Wycombe. We’re still just looking after Thomas Waddingham and Franco Umeh, while Josh Knight was missing because of illness.

Marlon Pack should be returning to training in around four weeks after he had the surgery on his knee earlier in the week. Unfortunately, Keshi Anderson has a tear in his quad and could be out for anywhere between eight and 12 weeks.

We’ll probably be looking more towards the latter because of the issues he had last season. We need to make sure we manage him properly.”
