“I thought it was a decent enough run out for the first match of pre-season and a competitive enough encounter. The first thing we look for in these games is to come away free from any injuries – and I think we have done. Then there is the performance and there were some good bits, with other areas where we need to improve. The third thing is the result and we managed to get that. We’re working hard with Tom to make sure he becomes that centre-forward that we can really rely on because he’s a very good finisher, as he showed with his goal.”
