Henter offensiv midtbanespiller fra Stockport

Pompey har skrevet en treårskontrakt med den offensive midtbanespilleren Odin Bailey.

NYHETER: 26 år gamle Odin Bailey er sommerens første signering. Den offensive midtbanespilleren beskrives som en typisk 10er kommer gratis fra League One-klubben Stockport. Hans kontrakt med Stockport gikk ut ved sesongslutt 2025/26.

Han har skrevet under på en treårskontrakt med Pompey.

Bailey var en del av Stockport-laget som vant League Two for to år siden. I mai var han del av Stockport-laget som tapte play-off-finalen mot Bolton. Han spilte totalt 140 kamper og scoret tolv mål for Stockport. Han har tidligere spilt for blant annet Birmingham City og Salford City.

«I’m over the moon to be here and really excited to get started. I heard of a lot more interest once the season finished and thankfully, we were able to get it sorted. I was told the club’s ambitions and where it wants to go over the next few years, which aligns with my own.

I’ve had time to rest and recover, but have been slowly building myself back up over the past few weeks so I’m able to hit the ground running. I see myself as a creative midfielder and I like to get on the ball and try to score, while I’m reliable in possession. I like to be an influence on every game that I play. I want to bring excitement and something a bit different.

I’m ready to prove that I’m more than good enough to be at this level. I’m looking forward to playing Southampton – I can’t wait to experience the derby.”

Bailey debuterte sammen med Jude Bellingham for Birmingham i en ligacupkamp på Fratton Park mot Pompey i august 2019.

«I made my professional debut for Birmingham at Fratton Park, so this place already has special memories for me. I’m really looking forward to getting back out there again and being able to play in front of the Pompey fans. When you make your debut at 19 you think it’s all going to be plain sailing, but I’ve had to work my way back up to the Championship.”
