Hentet på lån fra Luton Town

Det ble ropt om spisskjøp i januar fra Pompey-fansen. Pompey endte opp med å låne Jacob Brown fra League One-klubben Luton Town.

NYHETER: Den 27 år gamle angrepsspilleren Jacob Brown er klar for Pompey. Han kom på lån fra Luton ut sesongen. Brown spilte i Premier League med Luton for to år siden, men har den siste tiden vært ute av laget til klubben som nå er i League One.

Brown kan spille både spiss og kant. Han har åtte A-landskamper for Skottland og har tidligere spilt for blant annet Barnsley og Stoke før han kom til Luton.

Brown debuterte for Pompey da han spilte fra start borte mot Preston. Han har også kommet inn som innbytter i de to kampene etterpå, mot henholdsvis Sheffield United og Charlton.

Han står med sju mål på 60 kamper for Luton.

«Jacob is a player who has bags of Championship experience and was appearing in the Premier League a little over 18 months ago. It’s probably been a difficult first half of the season for him at Luton, but he’s coming here looking to get back on track.

We feel that he bolsters us in any one of those positions across the front line, so it’s a signing that we’re really excited about.»

«As soon as I signed here, I just wanted to get straight down to business and start training with all the lads. The chance for me to play in the Championship again was key and so was the role of the fans – who were so great.

I got goosebumps before the game because they were cheering so loud. This is a massive club and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to play for Pompey.”
