SUPPORTERINTERVJUET: Det er ikke mange kamper i Premier League på årets 2. juledag (Boxing Day), men i Championship er det fullt kjør. Pompey har fire poeng på sine to siste kamper og skal nå ha to hjemmekamper på rad før nyttår. Første gjest er London-klubben QPR.
Her er medlem nummer 38, Michael Pantling, sine tanker før dagens kamp. Michael er som kjent fra England, men har bodd i Danmark i mange år og har vært medlem hos oss i mange år. Spørsmålene er norsk, men Michael svarer på engelsk. Her er Michales tanker før kampen:
Det ble 16. plass i Championship forrige sesong etter opprykk fra League One sesongen før. Hva er dine beste minner fra 2024/25-sesongen?
– Staying up came as a relief but our last quarter of the season was actually very good, such a pity it couldn’t have started a bit sooner.
Hva tenker du om det Pompey har foretatt seg på overgangsmarkedet før 25/26-sesongen?
– Conor Chaplin arriving came as a bit of a surprise. I’m not convinced that he is what we really needed. The coming transfer window will be most interesting as Pompey need at least one experienced striker. The only area where I think we are strong is with goalkeepers particularly with Schmid but we need cover incase he gets injured again.
Hva var dine tanker og forventninger til denne sesongen?
– At the start of the season I had great expectations in being able to challenge for a play-off place, now staying up is paramount but I do believe that were have the squad and manager to do it. Anything above 16th would be marvellous. I was really please to see that Schmid’s contract has been extended.
Hvilke lag tror du rykker opp til Championship denne sesongen og hvilke tre lag rykker du ned?
– Cardiff must be favourites for promotion and Sheffield Wednesday are almost certain to go down. Oxford must be favourite to join them. My third guess for relegation would be Charlton as an outsider. Cardiff will probably be joined by Stevenage and Bolton.
Har du planer om å få til en tur over for å se Pompey i løpet av 2025/26?
– I manged to get to Fratton to see Pompey win against Middlesborough – I also went to Charlton to see 17 minutes of football.

– I rely on the BBC.

– Schmid, Lang & Devlin are my current favourites.
Hva er dine tanker om John Mousinho og hans trenerteam?
– I’m still a firm believer in Mousinho – we have been a bit unlucky with injuries but there are signs of consistent and much needed improvements.
Nå er det QPR på hjemmebane i serien. Hva er dine tanker om denne kampen, hva er din startellever og hvordan tror du kampen ender?
– It has to be a win by more than one goal. Schmid, Swanson, Devlin, Poole, Dozel, Kosznovszky, Murphy plus it is likely that Bishop and Chaplin will feature. I would like to see Yang get some playing time and we could do with Swift..
